The private equity firm Symphony Technology Group (STG), which controls RSA, the next company on our list, owns both businesses. McAfee has long been a significant figure in the security industry.

What has amazed people is Defender’s impressive performance in the demanding MITRE ATT&CK testing, with a continuous series of excellent scores.
A recent Gartner survey found that CIOs prioritize cybersecurity over strategic IT investments like AI and the cloud. Companies have been aggressively investing in the $150 billion enterprise security market due to the damage a breach may cause to a company’s intellectual property and reputation, not to mention the harsh fines imposed under data privacy legislation.
